For my web 2.0 tool I used ZOOBURST. ZOOBURST is a website where pop-up books can be created.
First a new user must create a username and password using an e-mail address. After the instructions provided by the website enable
the new user to get started. All the user tools to get started are located on the upper right hand corner of their profile page on ZOOBURST.
A new user may view other books that have been created to get some ideas of how to get started. Next a new user selects create a new book
and it takes the person to the creation page. ZOOBURST provides thousands of clipart images to use, it also allows the user to upload their own
photos to use in the book.
For my ZOOBURST pop-up book I created "What's Happening?" a book about fall. In a Reading Language Arts class a teacher could use this tool in many ways.
One ways a teacher could use this tool it to create different books for the students to read. It would be a different way to keep students engaged and the books could
focus on certain reading skills (phonics, comprehension, word fluency). Or this tool could be used to allow the students get creative. The teacher could teach the students how to use ZOOBURST and then could select a few days to be in computer labs to create their own pop-up books. This could be a great at home assignment for students also. In addition the ZOOBURST tool could be linked to other sunjects the students are learning about.
